Top 25 support heart charity’s silver anniversary

Lee Peck Media has joined 25 of the leading companies across the south in becoming a corporate sponsor for Wessex Heartbeat’s 25thanniversary year.

The agency’s first task was to host an event for all the sponsors at Eastleigh based Hendy FordStore – both a client and a fellow sponsor.

Special guests, who were interviewed on stage by Lee Peck, included MP Mims Davies, Lawrie McMenemy MBE, who is one of Heartbeat’s Patrons, and Olympic Gold Medallist Alex Danson another great supporter of the charity.

Lee said: “Wessex Heartbeat is one of the region’s most iconic charities and rightly so. Over 25 years it has raised more than £13m, putting in place crucial extra improvements to Southampton’s Wessex Cardiac Centre, one of the largest and most reputable in the UK, performing around 1600 operations a year.

“On a personal level I’m thrilled to be involved. I was part of the launch team all those years ago and my team of designers actually produced the distinctive Wessex Heartbeat logo, which I’m delighted to report has definitely stood the test of time!”

Wessex Heartbeat provides support for babies, children, adults, and their loved ones, who are treated at the Wessex Cardiac Centre based at Southampton General Hospital.  As a local charity its focus is looking after the local community with all monies raised in the Wessex area, staying in the Wessex area.

Wessex Heartbeat specialist Cardiac Rehabilitation nurses are also able to visit local companies to check BMI, cholesterol, diabetes and blood pressure for employees. It’s as part of the charity’s Healthy Heart Service which can be effective in giving a snapshot of each person’s health.
