Sporting icon Matt le Tissier and yachting royalty Mike Golding joined business leaders for a VIP Champagne reception and dinner organised by Southampton PR agency Lee Peck Media to celebrate the launch of the city’s new Southampton Harbour Hotel and Spa.

The agency was responsible for a programme of activities to put the UK’s most dramatic hotel on the map including media relations, social media and client introductions. Coverage was achieved on BBC TV, BBC News online, Daily Mail online and The Sun together with a range of radio stations.

Accompanying the sporting celebrities were Lee Peck Media’s top clients and special guests Richard Mancey, the MD of Paultons Park; Michael Ockwell, CEO of Mayflower Theatre; Royston Smith MP and BBC South Today Political Editor Peter Henley.

“It was a really special occasion,” said Lee Peck Media Director Lee Peck. “It was great fun but more importantly it enabled leading business figures in the region to get to know each other a little better. Over and above delivering powerful PR, one of our objectives is connecting likeminded people so the evening was a great success.”

The city’s hugely anticipated hotel brings five-star luxury to the marina and port, transforming Ocean Village with its striking superyacht inspired design.

Featuring three unique dining experiences, the city’s first destination rooftop bar and a luxury spa and health club, the £25m development also boasts a private cinema and state-of-the-art meeting rooms … all blended together with breathtaking marina views.

Simon Maguire, the Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa general manager, said: “Working with our partner Lee Peck Media has given us a huge advantage from the start. The company’s PR delivery is what you’d expect from one of the UK’s top agencies, but few would have been able to put together such an impressive guest list which included some of the region’s most influential players. Very impressive.”
