102 year old Mary waltzes to the headlines with birthday wish!

A 102-year-old care home resident’s wish to dance the waltz on her birthday has resulted in coverage on a national newspaper’s digital platform together with exposure across a range of local and trade publications.
Mary Duncan lives at Millway House in Andover which is one of the care homes run by Sears Healthcare, a client of Lee Peck Media.
The agency’s brief is to identify news items that will highlight the sense of caring and community the nurses and carers give to its residents.
Lee Peck Media’s Hannah Drinkwater, who looks after the Sears account, said: “The wonderful staff at Millway House made our job easy when they hired professional dancer Dave Turner, to sweep Mary off her feet on her special day to make her birthday wish come true.”
Together with coverage across an array of local and trade publications, Mary’s story enjoyed a potential audience reach of more than 18 million viewers on the Mirror’s digital platform, giving important exposure for the vital service the team at Sears perform on a daily basis.

Lee Peck said: “This was a wonderful story and we’re thrilled to see this initiative by the team at Millway House receiving the national attention it deserves.”

Richard Adams, Sears Healthcare CEO, said: “Our company’s focus is on providing high-quality nursing care and developing the skills and expertise of our nurses in relation to the care of older people. We work in a sensitive sector and it’s vital that we get our message and values out to our communities and the people we work with.

“We’re delighted to be working with Lee Peck Media and to have received such high impact coverage for Millway House.”
