Staff from Lee Peck Media proved they will literally go the extra mile for their clients as they took part in the second ever ABP Southampton Half Marathon at the weekend.
The team laced up their trainers to support a number of their clients involved in the event, including Hendy Group, The Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital, Rees Leisure and The Mayflower Theatre.
As well as providing PR support on the day the Lee Peck Media runners took part in the corporate challenge, which sees businesses across the south pound the streets in a bid to be the fastest company across the finish line.
Alyson Marlow, Lee Peck Media’s managing director, said: “This year’s race was a huge success and we loved the new elements of the route, especially running through the iconic St Mary’s Stadium. It was rewarding to see so many of our clients coming together to make the event a success – from Hendy Group providing the Kia Sedona timing car at the start line to the Nuffield Hospital offering much-needed massages at the finish.”
Those behind the ABP Southampton Half Marathon are already preparing for next year’s event and are considering adding a full marathon route to the options for the day.
Early response to the idea has been positive, with Southampton City Council backing the plans and 200 people saying they were interested in the idea within the first hour of a Facebook group being launched.
Alyson said: “It’s exciting news for both runners and businesses across Southampton. The event already provides some fantastic branding opportunities for our clients and acts as a huge boost to the city’s economy. Making it even bigger in 2017 will I’m sure be a popular move.”
