Investing in future talent with Ben

Lee Peck Media is investing in future talent by hiring a new intern.

Capturing the zeitgeist, 18 year old Ben Pike has decided to leave college – where he got three A levels – and go straight into the workplace rather than go to university.

Ben is on a two year programme designed to give him a 360 degree view of communications and public relations. Working closely with the Lee Peck Media team on a number of clients and projects, Ben will learn the fundamentals of client craft, presentation skills; pitching; writing for the media; event planning; networking and social media.

Managing Director Lee Peck said: “Ben has already brought a fresh approach to the agency and is challenging our existing thinking which is exactly why he’s here. Of course, I’m bound to say this but a career in communications offers so much and helping someone who’s keen and enthusiastic like Ben is very satisfying. ”

Ben, who has moved from his hometown of Reading to Southampton, said: “From an early age I knew I wanted to be involved in the media so I’m super happy to roll my sleeves up and get stuck into the real world!”

Earlier in the summer 17 year old Bethany Jenkins, who is studying for her A levels at Itchen College, joined Lee Peck Media for a week’s work experience to strengthen her application to the University of Southampton.
