As featured on The Breakfast Show with Katie Martin on BBC Radio Solent this morning, Lee Peck Media has won the rights to market an exciting new fruit which is to hit the supermarket shelves soon.
The banawberry is a hybrid of the banana and strawberry and has been developed locally by an, as yet, unnamed farmer.
The banawberry tastes as good as it looks with its distinctive bright yellow colour and firm and mouth-watering texture.
It follows in a long line of new fruits like the pluberry and peacherine.
Lee Peck, of the Southampton based PR agency, said: “Creating a new fruit is a painfully slow process but worth it in the end. The banawaberry really is delicious.
“It’s early days but we’ve made great progress in getting the name out there. Our first major success is getting Wimbledon to put it on its menu for this year’s tournament. Banawberries and cream on a hot English summer afternoon is set to become a sure-fire winner!”
The agency is also in talks with FIFA about positioning the banawberry as the fruit of the tournament at the 2018 World up in Russia. Lee said: “A total of 32 teams from around the globe will be taking part so the exposure would be tremendous.”
